How do you remove cement from jewelry settings?
Stone setting is a precision operation used to mount gemstones on jewellery pieces or on decorative watch components. This delicate process requires the use of a Stone Setting Cement (also referred to as a Setter’s Cement) to temporarily hold the stone in position while it is being securely set.
Once the setting operation has been completed, the cement must be removed. At this stage, many workshops still rely on flammable solvents or products that present health and safety risks.

Which two NGL products should be used?
For the removal of setting cements, NGL offers two complementary solutions:
- Allstrip 2025: a high-flash-point solvent for primary cleaning.
- Rodaclean 2018: an alkaline detergent solution for removing residues and certain solvent-resistant cements.
